The Playhouse Crèche & Play School, Windmill Road is situated beside Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital, Drogheda.
We offer Full Day Care, Pre-School, Part Time and After School Services from Monday to Friday.
This newly acquired premises has been totally refurbished to reflect a bright and airy atmosphere similar to our Roschoill premises. It is ideally located and is in close proximity to the hospital, town centre and Drogheda Institute of Further Education (DIFE). With this in mind we offer both the *CETS & *ECCE Programmes supporting parents in the area.
Our curriculum is 'Play' based, incorporating the **Early Childhood Education programme 'Aistear'. We design the programme around the children's interests including and supporting their personal interests, community and family. We do this through regular observation and planning. Through these methods, the children are offered a wide variety of learning opportunities.

"Our son attended The Playhouse for his preschool year. He is a quiet, shy child and I worried that he might not enjoy the experience, but thanks to Gillian’s great way with all the kids he settled right in. He loved every single day, and became so much more confident in himself as the year passed. Despite refusing to tell me what he did every day, he came home at the end of the year with a bulging folder of his artwork and writing. As well as learning lots about nature and science he learned the important skills he needs for school like sitting, listening to teacher and how to behave in a group. He is now very ready to start junior infants in September.
Gillian is a natural with children. She is creative, fun, kind and fair. I have no hesitation in recommending her, and we look forward to sending our next child to The Playhouse next September.

"“Our children, Adam and Hannah, both attended The Playhouse between the years of 2009 and 2012. When Adam started in 2009, he was finding it very difficult to speak and being three years of age, we were very concerned. However, Gillian accepted him into The Playhouse and through her expertise and attention to Adam, it wasn't long before he had the confidence to start speaking and hasn't stopped since..
Hannah started in 2010 and she also got the same expert attention and encouragement, though she did not have the difficulties that Adam had at first. Hannah though started on a two day week but because she loved The Playhouse so much, she insisted within a few weeks on going every day.
My husband and I would highly recommend Gillian Moran through her work with Children in The Playhouse. The atmosphere in the ‘classroom’ is always very relaxed and the children always had smiles on their faces and were eager to tell of all the work they had done in the morning.

""We came to Gillian when my daughter Clara was having a tough time in her previous Montessori. Her personality had changed and I worried that she wouldn't recover. Thanks to Gillians' kind words she calmed us and she visited our home to meet Clara on several occasions before she joined The Playhouse. I was so impressed with the set up in The Playhouse and the constant feedback I received. Clara was totally prepared for school and hasn't had any problem with school work or friends. I can't thank Gillian enough. The months flew by and Clara was so happy in The Playhouse, returning to her old self, much to our delight. I have always recommended Gillian and already have my 4 month olds name down for the future."

""Our Son attended the Playhouse from April 2009 to June 2010. We found the Playhouse to be a great preparation for our son especially being his pre-school year. We found Gillian to be very caring, have great understanding of children, very reliable, informative, and the most talented person with children we have ever met.
Gillian operates a very clean, bright, friendly environment and our son couldn't get ready quick enough, every morning to attend. "“What a great playschool. Our daughter has been attending for two years and has learned so, so much through play. From simple , but very important things like taking turns and socialising with other children, right through to being able to write her name unaided at age 3 .
Gillian is so gifted with children—she is so kind, patient and a talented teacher but yet takes no nonsense or bad behaviour from any child. We can not imagine that our daughter could have got a better start in her pre-school years anywhere else!”
