Laura is a clinical hypnotherapist based in Castlebar, County Mayo. She offers help with symptoms of depression, stress, anxiety, smoking cessation, fears, phobias, childbirth, and so much more. Laura also runs a hypnotherapy training school which is based in Breaffy House Hotel, from September to June.
Laura has been in private practice since 2004, after qualifying in London. In 2007 she relocated to Ireland and has been practicing from Kachina Alternative Health & Beauty Centre ever since.
In 2014, Laura was awarded the Best of Mayo Business Runner Up Award.
Laura is accredited by the NRPC, APHP, and the CNHC. She is an accredited Mentor for BWRT practitioners.
'BWRT®' stands for 'BrainWorking Recursive Therapy®', a model of psychology and psychotherapy created by UK professional therapist, Terence Watts, MCGI. Like many other modern therapies, it allows a 'core of privacy' so that you do not have to divulge anything you would rather not talk about - in fact, the practitioner only needs to know how you feel and how you would prefer to feel instead. Hypnosis is an altered state of consciousness and heightened responsiveness to suggestion. It results in the gradual assumption by the subject of a state of consciousness in which attention is withdrawn from the outside world and is concentrated on mental, sensory and physiological experiences. Hypnosis can produce a deeper contact with one's emotional life, resulting in some lifting of repressions and exposure of buried fears and conflicts. You can learn and practice hypnosis yourself and apply it to your life on a daily basis. It's a lifelong skill that once learnt can bring about profound changes.
