St. Michael's House Policy Handbook Prontaprint Tara Street were approached by St. Michael's House to design & typeset a policy handbook for their staff. Our brief was to keep the design smart, clear & engaging whilst respecting the seriousness of the content. One of the challenges in the typesetting was the amount of copy in the document, if not treated correctly the design ran the risk of looking too text heavy and would not make for an easy read. We overcame these challenges with the use of block colours to separate out sections. We were not afraid to leave negative space to allow the text to 'breath'. We drew quirky illustrations to make reference to content on the page, this also helped to add a little 'fun' to the pages. St. Michael's House were delighted with the outcome, so much so they have ordered an additional policy to be giving a similar treatment.
